LPS Weekly News: While students look back, schools look to future with School Vote March 12.
Second graders have been building timelines of historic events in Livingston. It’s quite an achievement – we hear it measures 45 feet long. But while the children have been looking back, Livingston Public Schools has been looking to the future.
School leaders have their own timeline for proposed school construction if Livingston voters approve a March 12 referendum. After a yearlong study, they see emergent needs for elementary capacity and 100 percent ADA compliance at Livingston High School.

It’s been produced at the LHS television studios and features an inside look at the schools to help voters be fully informed when going to the polls on March 12.
If approved, the referendum would allow LPS to create 14 new classrooms to offer more flexibility to ease soft borders, decrease class size, provide space for additional special education programs, and make room for new students predicted to move into our town. In addition, the construction would include three new media centers and ADA improvements at the high school.

District Achievement: LHS Health and PE teacher Tamara Floruss is recognized as the Outstanding Health Education Teacher of the Year.

SCHOOL VOTE MARCH 12
A community forum will be held after Winter Break, at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 26 at Riker Hill Elementary School, 31 Blackstone Drive. The evening will include presentations and Q&A.
