Livingston Public Library will mark the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy with a special lecture honoring the life, leadership and legacy of the president at 7:30 p.m. at the library. The program is free. 

Terry Golway will lead the lecture. Golway is the director of the John Kean Center for American History at Kean University has authored several history books, including "JFK Day by Day," and is co-author of "Let Every Nation Know: John F. Kennedy in His Own Words." Golway has also appeared in documentaries on PBS and the History Channel among others.

On Wednesday, The National Council of Jewish Women will hold a RISE Institute workshop titled Self Affirmations at 10:30 a.m. at the NCJW/Essex Center for Women, at 70 South Orange Ave., Suite 120.
