ReplyGreat article but the comment about Johnny playing with fire while he's being cared for by the babysitter is a tad off. Yes, kids are fascinated by fire but no responsible parent is going to have a fire blazing while the kids are being cared for by the babysitter. BUT kudos to the Livingston Public School system and the Livingston Fire Department for educating the kids about fire safety. My kids always come home after a fire safety demo and we review safe ways to get out of the house, where the fire extinguishers are, etc. Sometimes I think the wee folk are more safety conscious than many adults.

ReplyRe: the condition of the fields, even without others "renting" the fields, don't our kids deserve well-maintained places to play? The amount of geese poop on Mt. Pleasant's fields was, in the past, disgusting! It was like sending my son to play in an avian toilet. Thank goodness it's MUCH better this year!
