I am an award-winning writing, editing and public relations professional with more than 20 years experience as a reporter at The Star-Ledger. While at the paper, I spent 10 years as a beat reporter covering West Essex, including Livingston. I later moved to features where I wrote my own column, The Young & Talented, all about young people in the arts in New Jersey, and covered family entertainment. I left the paper at the end of 2008 and became a writing, editing and public relations consultant for the Newark Museum and started my own firm, Allison Freeman Associates LLC. I work with many businesses writing everything from websites to marketing copy to articles and help them develop successful public relations campaigns. I also serve as vice president of marketing and communications for the Morris County chapter of the New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners  (NJAWBO). I am filling in for Jess Lipper while she is on leave as the Interim Manager of Communications and Community Relations, Livingston Public Schools. I live with my husband and two sons in Randolph.
