Apparent Road Rage Turns Into Alleged Shooting

A 21-year-old Irvington woman told police a man shot at her car twice while she drove through Millburn on her way to work at Livingston Mall.

Reservation Roads Closed; Traffic Problems Throughout the Area

The "S" curves of South Orange Avenue are closed

Updated: S curves are now reopened.    With wet snow falling rapidly, traffic conditions have worsened this afternoon, officals said. Police have closed the "S" curves through the South Mountain Reservation, the stretch of South Orange Avenue between South Orange and into Millburn. The county road is closed both east and westbound as of 3:45 p.m. Readers report traffic snarls on many local streets, including Wyoming Avenue. Wyoming is reportedly crowded, possibly because South Orange Avenue is closed. Trains and buses are cross-honoring today.

The "S" curves are not dangerous if you stay in your lane. Stick to the right hand lane if you're uncomfortable traveling at the posted speed limit. The danger arises when slower drivers occupy the left lane and force other cars to pass them on the right. Let's use common sense and follow standard driving laws. We don't need to spend more money and close up the "S" curves for renovations.   more ›
