Four Cars Robbed on JFK Parkway in an Afternoon, Police Say

West Orange, Livingston, Cranford and Scotch Plains residents had their cars broken into in Short Hills last Friday.

Four parked cars in the business parking lots at 51 and 101 John F. Kennedy Parkway across from the The Mall at Short Hills were broken into between 2 and 6 p.m. on Jan. 11, Millburn police said. Scott Dorfman, 31, of Cranford, told police when he entered the parking lot at about 2:30 p.m., he saw a young man in his car searching through his belongings. He told police, someone in a black Chevy Tahoe truck with tinted windows pulled up to Dorfman's car. The driver shouted "let's get out of here," to the man in the car once he saw Dorfman, according to the report. The truck drove off toward JFK Parkway South.
