District Art Show: The opening reception is Thursday, April 25, 6-7:30 p.m. for the Livingston Public Schools District Art Show at the Livingston Mall. The LHS Action! Club is presenting Action Extravaganza! on the LHS Turf, Sunday, April 28 from 9 a.m. to noon. This event, the first of its kind, will feature carnival-type games organized by students and a poster competition open to all on what inclusion means to you. Livingston's Week Ahead
After a week of recess, Livingston Public School students return to class on Monday. There are no school meetings on the calendar as students shift back into gear. Looking ahead to next week, Governor Chris Christie and former Governor Thomas Kean will celebrate Livingston's First Meeting Day Thursday, April 11 at Livingston High School, details to come.

Livingston looks ahead to the week
It's likely to be a quiet week around town, as Livingston Public Schools are closed for spring recess. In case you missed it, the school budget passed on Thursday night. Passover begins and Easter is Sunday. Good Friday means many businesses will be closed. NJ Transit has a new schedule; the adjusted shuttle schedule is here. Have a great week, Livingston!

The Week Ahead in Livingston
The week's big story is the school vote on Tuesday, March 12. Briefly, Voters in Livingston will decide financing to build three new media center additions and classrooms at two other elementary schools. The construction will result in 14 additional elementary classrooms. In addition, work will bring the older section of Livingston High School into ADA compliance. The school vote on March 12 would allow the District to borrow up to $18.2 million for these facility improvements. The Livingston Board of Education will hold a voting meeting 7:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 11 at Mt. Pleasant Middle School. See the agenda by clicking here. Towns events slated for Autism awareness, the environment and healthy kids.
Autism awareness event The Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities will highlight Autism awareness with "Shine A Light on Autism Night" at 7 p.m. tonight at the gazebo in the Oval on Robert Harp Drive. The rain location is the Livingston High School cafeteria. Participants are encouraged to wear blue to show support for Autism awareness and activities include a walk, music by West End and face painting. Blue glow sticks, lanterns, t-shirts, bracelets and magnets are available for sale and proceeds will go to Autism Speaks, an autism science and research organization, and Include Me, a new peer-mentoring program for children of all abilities that started in Montvale before coming to Livingston.
