Temple B’nai Abraham Men’s Club held its inaugural summer whitewater rafting trip on the Lehigh River on Sunday, August 5. The 15 participants (in three boats) endured 9 miles of Class III rapids on the Lehigh River. This whitewater rafting trip was planned and organized by TBA Men’s Club Corresponding Secretary and TBA Board of Trustees member Carey Gertler and supported by Men’s Club Co-Presidents Craig Kantor and Lawrence Moskowitz. Class III rapids are rapids with high irregular waves and narrow passages that require complex maneuvering. A Ceremony of Recognition during a Ma’ariv Service, Temple B’nai Abraham honored the Hey Class (seventh grade) students of Religious School for completing their five-year Hebrew School studies.
Recently, in a Ceremony of Recognition during a Ma’ariv Service, Temple B’nai Abraham honored the Hey Class (seventh grade) students of Religious School for completing their five-year Hebrew School studies, in addition to synagogue and community volunteer hours. The seventh grade students led the Ma’ariv Service with additional special readings and prayers. Religious School Director Janet Resnick and Religious School Assistant Director Rena Yosevitz presented the students with certificates recognizing the completion of their studies in the five-year Religious School program and their moving on to secondary Jewish education, eighth to twelvth grades.
