Families and friends gather in LHS for a blast from the past.
If you catch them at the right angle, you could swear it was those fab lads onstage at Livingston High School -- Dirk, Stig, Nasty and Barry ... um,wait -- that was the Rutles. Oh well, I would have liked to have seen them onstage. But this is Beatlemania Again, a four-piece group that does its best to recreate the Fab Four's deceptively simple repertoire. The details are correct -- moptop wigs, black suits, beatle boots, Paul's Hofner bass, the way John holds his guitar up high and Ringo's slanted head and goofy grin. The summer concerts in the Gazebo are one reason I love living in Livingston.

(well, nearly). Bruce Springsteen! (well, nearly). The Beatles! (well, nearly). And NJ’s favorite oldies group. The music is free, and the summer lineup sizzles. The Summer Concert Series at the Gazebo is sponsored by Regal Bank. It runs Sundays in July starting at 7 p.m. in Memorial Park on the Oval, off of South Livingston Avenue. July 10: Parrot Beach Band, Jimmy Buffett tribute band. July 17: B-Street Band, Bruce Springsteen tribute band. July 24: Beatlemania, Beatles tribute band.
