St. Barnabas Hospital Unveils, Dedicates New Emergency Services Pavilion

'No single individual has contributed to the success of St. Barnabas more than our honoree tonight, Ronald Del Mauro,' said Barry Ostrowsky, president and chief financial officer of Barnabas Health.

Saint Barnabas Hospital unveiled the new entrance to its emergency services department Monday and dedicated it to the man who was instrumental in building it into the largest health care system in New Jersey.  More than 200 people sat and stood outside the hospital’s newly constructed entrance yesterday to see the opening of the Ronald J. Del Mauro Emergency Services Pavilion. The $1 million renovation was named after the former president and chief financial officer who many credit with saving the hospital from bankruptcy in the late 1980s.  “No single individual has contributed to the success of St. Barnabas more than our honoree tonight, Ronald Del Mauro,” said Barry Ostrowsky, president and chief executive officer of Barnabas Health.   …

It's St. Barnabas "Medical Center" as you can see in many of your photos. "St. Barnabas Hospital" in this area is in the Bronx which is totally unrelated to Barnabas Health. Also in the first picture, it has that the medical center is in West Orange. Actually, it is in Livingston. Only the Barnabas Heath which is the group's headquarters is in West Orange. I know the whole thing is confusing.   more ›

With cold and flu season upon us, Saint Barnabas offers some tips to protect yourself.

Photo of the Day: Lola's Pony Gets a Check Up

At last week's Teddy Bear Clinic, Lola Robinson's pony received a check up.

Four-year-old Livingston resident Lola Robinson brought her ponies, Kid and Blanca, to the Saint Barnabas Teddy Bear Clinic on July 18, 2012.  Lola said their “check-ups” showed both ponies were doing well and she was glad they did not cry when they got their shots.  Lola’s mom, Jennifer Robinson, said, “The Teddy Bear Clinic is a great way to expose Lola to the world of medicine.” At the Saint Barnabas’s annual Teddy Bear Clinic, children and their “patients” visited a series of interactive, fun play stations designed to help children learn that they don’t have to fear a trip to the hospital.

Sixteen Lives Celebrated at Saint Barnabas

Eight kidney donors meet their recipients for the first time in an emotional evening.

There are people in this world who donate their time and there are those who donate their money. Then there are the eight selfless individuals who each donated a kidney to eight recipients who will be forever grateful.   It began at the Saint Barnabas Medical Center with an altruistic donor and ended up involving six married couples, one set of friends, and one recipient who had been on a waiting list. Gathered together and meeting one another for the first time, these eight sets of former strangers became forever entwined. Many of the stories were the same -- the husband or wife wanted to supply their kidney to their spouse, but were not compatible. Instead, they became a donor to someone else and the spouse received a kidney from another…
