Several New Jersey museums will open their doors to Bank of America and Merill Lynch cardholders this weekend as part of the bank's "Museums On Us" initiative. The intention of the event is "to provide a cultural benefit to Bank of America cardholders and increase access to the arts across the United States," according to a press release. "The program brings new audiences and increased attention to participating organizations, which range from some of the nation’s most celebrated museums to regional gems and include art, science and history museums, as well as other cultural institutions," the press release said. Patch users vote costumed pup as Top Dog in the region.
Wendel the Wonder Dog is not only a caped crusader. He's also a Top Dog. Wendel, an Italian Greyhound mixed-breed dog, was found as a stray with his brother, Preston, when he was four months old. The pup was named Patch's Top Dog after making it through two rounds of voting in our contest. We asked users to submit photos of their dogs on participating sites, then vote for their favorites. Wendel received 42 votes on Long Valley Patch and the most votes in our regional round on all participating sites. Wendel is pictured in a pint-sized Batman costume, showing a facial expression like he is more than ready to fight crime-or take a nap. Some of the biggest names in music take the stage at Madison Square Garden for the live 12-12-12 concert for Sandy relief. While thousands of people fill the arena, billions are watching live on a variety of screens worldwide. The concert is streaming live on television networks, movie theater screens and on the Internet, including right here on Patch.
