Musical Sunshine on a Winter's Day

Kids meet the orchestra at a special concert featuring nature and animal themes.

Parents and their children came out Sunday afternoon to hear enchanting sounds performed by the Livingston Symphony Orchestra. As part of its 2010-2011 season, the ensemble presented its Young Peoples Concert titled “A Celebration of Nature and Animals” at Livingston High School. Keeping in touch with the recital’s theme, Istvan Jaray, the orchestra’s music director and principal conductor, engaged children between symphonies. Throughout the performance he offered up explanations of the animal or nature inspiration within each composition. He also pointed out sounds to listen for that played to the concert’s theme.
