Livingston Robotics Returns to World Championship

Landroids punch ticket to St. Louis for April competition.

This Sunday may be known as Super Bowl Sunday, but for members of the FIRST Tech Challenge team Landroids from the Livingston Robotics Club, they’ll have wait until April in St. Louis to play for the championship. The team not only won the first-place Inspire Award, the highest possible honor, at the Delaware State FIRST Tech Challenge Championship on Saturday, Jan 26, earning a berth at the 2013 World Championship, but for the second time, the Landroids became the first New Jersey team to punch their tickets to the big event. Robotics Offered for Children with Special Needs

FIRST LEGO League team will mentor 'Shining Stars.'

A “Shining Star” Robotics League will be offered for children with special needs this coming fall, the Livingston Robotics Club (LRC) and Livingston Advisory Committee for Disabilities (LACD) announced. One of the LRC’s award-winning FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams, team Landrias, comprised of four rising eighth-grade girls, is available to mentor one or two teams for two to four hours per week. “After three years of competing in the FLL, and successfully winning multiple regional Champion’s awards and Robot Design awards at the state level, the all-girls team Landrias has decided to change its mission from one of competition to ‘mentoring,’ which is how the idea of a ‘Shining Star’ Robotics League was conceived,” says Pearl Hwang, President…
