Finding The Perfect Sandwich: Baumgart's Cafe

We sample the sandwich offerings at Baumgart's Cafe in the Livingston Town Center.

I decided to visit Baumgart's Café after learning that the popular restaurant had designated a portion of the menu exclusively to sandwiches and wraps. Upon entering the restaurant, I realized that it was no ordinary dining experience. Directly in front of me was a soda counter that resembled an old-fashioned one straight out of a 1950s malt shop. Located next to the soda counter is a large sushi bar with sushi chefs that will prepare just about anything you request. A quick glance through the menu showed that there was literally something for everyone. I mean where else can you order hamburgers, salads, wraps, Chinese food and sushi all in one place? Finding The Perfect Sandwich: Nana's Deli

This week we stop by Nana's Deli to see if they serve up the perfect sandwich.

"Homemade doesn't have to mean made-at-home". That is the slogan of Nana's Deli, located at 127 South Livingston Avenue. Much of the eatery's food embodies the restaurant's philosophy of making high quality home-style meals. This large sandwich consists of roasted turkey breast served with hot stuffing, cranberry sauce and mayonnaise on rye bread. Another …

It wouldn't be a true deli if there wasn't pastrami on the menu and Irving's certainly has it covered. For $12.95 you can order a sandwich with a mountainous stack of hand cut pastrami on good rye bread. For those who aren't up to the task of eating so much, all "Piled High" sandwiches can be ordered as a half-sized portion for the price of $7.95.  There are corned beef…

Irving has the best pastrami in town! Second only to Katz in the City IMOHO. Love their chopped liver too. Lox is also great! But their cheesecake is nothing to rave about. But then again you don't go there for their dessert.   more ›
