How Can Moms Relax?
When you're on call 24 hours a day, relaxing is a challenge.
Sometimes I miss life before kids (although it’s been so long that it’s getting tougher to remember those BC – Before Children – days). Not that I regret having kids for one minute. They’re among the finest people I know and I cherish them even as I’m busting a vocal chord trying to get them out the door. But I miss something I lost when I became pregnant: the ability to relax. Back in B.C. times, I had only one person to worry about: myself. My husband could and can take care of himself. But once you realize you hold the future of another person in your body (or, in the case of adoption, on paper), things become more serious.
