8th graders celebrate the completion of middle school.
The Heritage Middle School Class of 2011 celebrated the completion of the Middle School year on Thursday, June 23. It was fitting that the ceremony was held at Livingston High School, the new home for these incoming freshmen for the next four years. Principal Patricia Boland and Assistant Principal Scott Axmann welcomed family and friends of the graduating 8th graders, followed by the "Pledge of Allegiance" and the singing of "America the Beautiful" by the 8th grade students. Assistant Principal Scott Axmann called for the presentment of Certificates by Teams, with performances in between by Mr. Traglia and the 8th Grade Jazz Band performing the songs, "Don't Stop Believin" and a personal favorite, Edgar Winter's "Frankenstein." Graduation honors 453 graduates and legacy of Pam McGroarty.
Livingston High School’s class of 2011 attended a graduation ceremony on Thursday that celebrated not only their considerable achievements, but also four decades of history in Livingston schools. Moved inside because of rain, the school awarded diplomas to 453 seniors applauded by audiences in the bleachers of the gym, and inside the auditorium, where grandparents and friends watched the live broadcast on a giant screen. The field house ceremony was a fitting farewell to Pamela Clause McGroarty, the retiring high school principal and former coach. “Forty-four years ago when I was sitting at high school graduation, I was just an ordinary, quiet kid. I had to work very hard to get where I wanted to go,” McGroarty said. Her teaching career …

High school diplomas were awarded to 453 seniors during a ceremony that paid tribute to Principal Pamela Clause McGroarty, who is retiring after a 40-year career in Livingston Public Schools. National Weather Service issues a flash flood warning for Livingston.
With Livingston under a flash flood warning with thunderstorms probable, Livingston High School’s Class of 2011 will graduate indoors today, where Principal Pam McGroarty promises the weather will be great. Crowded but dry. Only the two green tickets will be accepted for access to the ceremony in the Fitness and Wellness Center. Relatives are welcomed to come to school and watch from the auditorium and cafeterias.
