Suspected shoplifters got left holding some very expensive bags when they were stopped by police Wednesday evening after fleeing a designer boutique in Livingston with two Hermès purses worth $17,300. Livingston Police arrested five people after the owner of Duet Designer Consignment reported two Birkin bags were taken from the store on S. Livingston Avenue. Carried by A-List celebs, the handmade purses were each worth more than $8,000. West Orange Police stopped a Cadillac Escalade described as the getaway vehicle shortly after the theft was broadcast around 6:30 p.m. to local police departments.
