Someone Say Something will perform Sunday to help raise money for families in need to attend programs at the West Essex Y in Livingston.
The West Essex Y in Livingston will turn into a concert and party hall this weekend with a charity show to benefit local families in need. Someone Say Something, a rock band comprised of members from Livingston, Caldwell and Florham Park, will perform. Other activities at the event include games, food, music, tricky trays and prizes. The event will benefit the West Essex Y's Strong Kids Campaign, which provides financial assistance for local families in need to afford membership fees and participate in the Y's health and education programs, such as child care and summer camp. Annual Collins concert a hit.
On Tuesday evening, Collins Elementary School held its annual winter concert, featuring performances by the school's orchestra, band and chorus. Due to the anticipation of a large crowd, the show was held in the larger auditorium of Mount Pleasant Middle School. Even so, the room was packed tight with friends and family of the performers. The show commenced with a performance by the Beginning Orchestra. They played three short pieces, including the classic Merrily We Roll Along. It was amazing to hear how well the students sounded considering the fact that they only began playing the instruments in September. The Advanced Orchestra followed.
