Wednesday voters will go to the polls to elect a new Senator to fill the late Frank Lautenberg's seat. Newark Mayor and Democrat Cory Booker will face off against Republican and former mayor of Bogota Steven Lonegan. 

Thursday is Livingston's Bicentennial Gala at 6:30 p.m. at the Crystal Plaza, at 305 W. Northfield Road. Ticket prices for the gala have been reduced to $100 per person down from $150 thanks to an anonymous donor's contribution.  

You can purchase yours now at the senior, youth and leisure services office at the Senior/Community Center, at 204 Hillside Ave., from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or at town hall, at 357 S. Livingston Ave., from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Livingston Education Foundation will induct new members to the Livingston High School Alumni Hall Of Fame on Friday at 3:30 p.m. at The Wilshire Grand, at 350 Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange. 

The following alumni will be inducted Friday: Hannah August, class of 2001; Gov. Chris Christie, class of 1980; Nikki James, class of 1999; Ronnie Konner, class of 1966.  

In addition, the Livingston Educational Foundation will be honoring two former faculty members with their Leadership in Education Achievement and Dedication award to John Hopton and Dr. Barbara Tamburro. Reservations are required.
