Senior citizens are eligible for discounts if they are NJ users of E-Z Pass on the NJ Turnpike and Garden State Parkway. A 10 percent discount is available if you qualify and register your NJ E-ZPass transponder. (A simple application form is available at the NJ E-ZPass website here).
You will note a black screen when the site opens. Simply scroll down the site (right-side bar) slightly and the instructions and forms will open.
Print out the form, complete it and mail as instructed below.

To participate in the program, you must:
1) be 65 years or older;

2) have a valid driver’s license;
3) have a passenger vehicle registered in your name or your spouse's name (can be registered in any State, not just NJ) - (if you lease the vehicle, include copy of your lease agreement showing that you are the lessee);
4) have a New Jersey E-ZPass Account; and then
5) complete and submit the Application to: New Jersey Turnpike Authority, ETC Department, P.O. Box 5042, Woodbridge, NJ 07095.
Even better, for both NJ E-ZPass and NY E-ZPass drivers, special discount rates are available to all drivers, regardless of age, using Port Authority bridges and tunnels if you car pool. If three or more people are in your car, the toll may be only $2. All you need do to qualify is register your transponder by calling the respective transponder issuer. Use the cash lanes, not the E-Z Pass lanes to get this discount (they need to verify how many occupants are in the car). You pay cash, but at a greatly reduced toll.
