Volleyball coaches from Livingston High School and around Essex County are teaming up to raise awareness about breast cancer.
Girls volleyball coaches from the Super Essex Conference will play against one another in a fundraiser to find a cure for breast cancer. The Volleyball Match to Raise Awareness of Breast Cancer is spearheaded by Michael H. Karu, head coach for the girls’ volleyball team at Golda Och Academy in West Orange and the Past Managing Member for the CPA firm Levine, Jacobs & Company LLC.
The SEC is in its fifth year and includes most of the high schools, both public and private, in Essex County.
The volleyball match will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27, at West Orange High School, at 51 Conforti Ave. Doors will open at 1:30 p.m. and the match will start at 2 p.m.
The day will include the following match: coaches vs. coaches; a men's match; women's match; and a reverse co-ed match. In between matches, there will be a serving contest with chances to win shirts and other volleyball merchandise.
