Sarah Stein, a senior and incoming freshman at Emerson College, will be conducting an informational seminar on June 26, from 7-8:30 p.m., at .  The subject of her seminar will be the horrors of Human Trafficking, internationally and domestically.

Today, there are an estimated 10-30 million people who are victims of modern day slavery.  Every 3 out of 4 slaves is a woman, and half of these slaves are children.  Did you know there are an estimated 17,500 people trafficked into the United States?

In addition to holding the seminar, Stein will also be looking to secure a Girl Scout Gold Award with this community service awareness project.  A Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout can earn.

This project has a requirement of 85 hours of preparation and service, though many girls exceed this requirement.  Stein, being a Girl Scout for 12 years, understands the meaning of community and the importance of making a positive impact.  This is why she has carefully chosen the often looked-over topic of modern day slavery to discuss.

So the community is invited to help Sarah STOP THE TRAFFICK by joining her at this mind-opening lecture.  Admission is free.  Parental advisory for children under the age of 13.
