Local Band Going Dark To Headline National Night Out

The event sponsored by the Livingston Police Department will take place on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at dusk at Memorial Field.

The local band Going Dark is set to headline National Night Out in August.

Guitarist LJ Militello, 15, of Livingston, drummer Alex Fogg, 17, of Livingston, and lead singer and bassist Oliver Shaw, 13, of Essex Fells, will kick off the event on Tuesday, Aug. 6, at Memorial Park at 5:30 p.m.

Going Dark has not played in Livingston since the Fourth of July in 2011. Since then, the band has played The Bamboozle Festival with Foo Fighters and Motley Crue, Mountain Jam with Gov’t Mule, performed on television networks NBC and Fox, opened for Sebastian Bach at Irving Plaza, Big Time Rush at Great Adventure and much more.

“We are very excited to be part of National Night Out and to work with the town and local Police department on such a large and important event on and on this year the 200th anniversary of our town," said Fogg. "We have a big stage set and light show coming for this concert, it is really going to be something you will not want to miss!"

Sponsored by the Livingston Police Department, the free event will offer an evening of food and fun, including face painting, balloons and carnival games for children, giveaways, live bands, a DJ, law enforcement displays, safety/security demonstrations and anti-drug activities.
