Essex County OEM Announces Cooling Centers

In light of this weekend's heat, the Essex County Sheriff's department has listed these sites as possible cooling centers for residents.

The Essex County Office of Emergency Management is advising residents that due to extreme heat conditions this weekend, the at the South Mountain Recreational Complex on Northfield Avenue in West Orange will be used as a cooling center for Essex County residents.  The arena will be open on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For Livingston residents who can't make it to the arena, the announced that the and can be used as local cooling centers for residents to cool off and relax.  Their normal business hours will still be in effect.
