Livingston schools will remain closed on Friday due to the continuing power outages resulting from Hurricane Sandy.
The SAT exam scheduled for Saturday at Livingston High School has also been canceled.
Seven schools are still without power, only the Mount Pleasant Elementary/Middle School complex is back online. The Livingston High School gym is being used as a shelter for Livingston residents, including Cedar Street Commons for Seniors and Universal Institute, as well as some other group homes.
The 2012-2013 School Calendar includes three snow days. Schools are closed for students on Election Day, Tuesday, November 6. Because it is a Presidential Election, LPS does not have the option to open schools that day to make up for the loss of time due to Hurricane Sandy.
