Livingston Schools Begin Kindergarten Sign-Ups

Parents of incoming kindergarten students are invited to an informational meeting on March 31 at Mt. Pleasant Middle School.

Although the start of the new school year seems a long way off, Livingston Public Schools is beginning the process now.

If you have a child who will turn 5 on or before Oct. 1, 2014, please click here to find out what you need to do to get ready for the first day of Kindergarten.  

All Kindergarten registrations must be done in person by appointment. Call 973-535-8000, ext. 8002, or send an to aennis@livingston.org. Your appointment will be scheduled based on the child’s last name beginning Feb. 10.

Parents of incoming kindergarten students are invited to an informational meeting 7 p.m. on Monday, March 31 at Mt. Pleasant Middle School. 


To register, residents will need to download the Kindergarten Registration Packet available on the District's website, which can be found by clicking here. Residents can also get a hard copy at the Livingston Public Schools Central Office, located at 11 Foxcroft Drive, between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.



In addition to the completed Kindergarten registration packet and medical forms, residents will need:

  • Student’s original birth certificate.

  • Parent/guardian’s driver’s license.
  • Original deed or tax bill or copy of lease and owner/landlord affidavit form.
  • Original utility bill (current month or one month prior). 



Completed forms and all supporting documentation must be returned in person to the Administrative Building by appointment only. 

Livingston Public Schools determines the placement of students based upon the enrollment at each elementary school. Residents will be notified of their child’s assigned school by June 2.
