Livingston Bicentennial 5K, Fun Run Coming Oct. 20

There will also be special needs track and field programs at the event on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Livingston's 200th anniversary festivities will continue in October with a townwide run. 

The Bicentennial 5K Run/Walk will be Sunday, Oct. 20 as part of the homecoming celebration. In addition, there will be a 1-mile fun run and events for those with special needs. 

The 5K will start at 9:30 a.m. in front of Livingston High School that day. The 5-K Run is certified by the US Track and Field of New Jersey. 

The special needs track and field events will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by the the 1-mile fun run at the high school track at 11 a.m. Livingston Public Schools physical education teachers and the YMCA will run special events for children with special needs at the event. 

Booths will be at the event providing information about health/wellness as well as a DJ and prizes.

The fee for the special needs track and field events is $18. Registration opens at 8 a.m. at Livingston High School on Oct. 20. 

Net proceeds will benefit Livingston youth. 

The event is co-hosted by the Big L Club, Livingston Education Foundation, West Essex YMCA in partnership with LACD and the Livingston Bicentennial Historical Committee.
