Township Manager Pleads Not Guilty in Obstruction Case

If convicted, Michelle Meade could receive a sentence of up to six months in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.

Livingston Township Manager Michele Meade entered a not guilty plea to two disorderly conduct charges in West Caldwell Municipal Court Wednesday, according to The Alternative Press.

The charges are related to an April 19 SWAT Team training event, during which resident Kelly Mollineaux alleged Meade assaulted her. On June 19, Judge Bridget A. Stecher found there was "probable cause" for Mollineaux's claim.

Again before Judge Stecher on Wednesday, Meade answered to charges also involving the SWAT training that were filed by Livingston Police Sgt. Kenneth Hanna: interfering with official acts and disorderly persons for offensive language. If convicted, the township manager could face a maximum of a $1,000 fine or six months in jail, the article said.

The next court date in the matter was set for July 31 at 9:30 a.m.
