Livingston Council Meeting Canceled for Monday

The meeting will be made up later this month.

The Livingston Township Council meeting scheduled for Monday has been canceled.

Township Clerk Glenn Turtletaub signed off on the cancellation this past Monday. The meeting is rescheduled for July 29 at 7:30 p.m. in town hall.

At the previous council meeting on July 8, Livingston's 2011 tree ordinance was put to the test as it pitted a large-scale development against preserving the township's arboreal assets.

After months of appealing to the council to reduced what a developer called an "exorbitant, completely unreasonable fee," the council ruled to cut the developer's tax for removing more than 300 trees down to $50,000 from $140,000.
