BOE Candidates Discuss Next Superintendent, Their Role

The latest BOE candidates forum gives voters more insight as to who they are voting for.

On October 9, the Livingston Old Guard held a special forum featuring the candidates for this year's Board of Education election.

The three candidates trying to secure one of the two open spots are Pamela Chirls, Dr. David Jasin and Soumitra Rathod.  The candidates answered five questions, provided to them before the debate, and one question from the audience.

Among the topics discussed was what they would like to see in the next superintendent, should current superintendent Dr. Brad Draeger decide not to renew his contract; the proposed referendum for $28 million of constructions; and what they see their roles being if elected and which issues are most pressing.
