Judge Finds 'Probable Cause' in Complaint Against Livingston Twp. Manager

After mediation, judge determines there likely is some truth in citizen's complaint that Michele Meade assaulted her during a SWAT team training.

There is "probable cause" in a resident's accusation that Livingston Township Manager Michele Meade assaulted her during an April SWAT training exercise. That's the June 19 finding of West Caldwell Municipal Judge Bridget A. Stecher, according to The Alternative Press.

Kelly Mollineaux filed a simple assault complaint against against Meade April 22, alleging that the township manager “did attempt to cause (or purposely knowingly caused) bodily injury” to her.

The article said police reports of what happened between Meade and Mollineaux offer conflicting views of what happened during the April 19 ESU training.

Mollineaux filed a simple assault charge against Meade three days later. Mediation was attempted between the parties June 19, but Court Administrator Sylvia Fuentes told The Alternative Press that mediation did not work out and Judge Stecher did find reasonable suspicion that elements of Mollineaux’s complaint are accurate.

A conference between Meade and Mollineaux is expected to take place Tuesday morning.
