How Would You Redesign Memorial Park?

As Livingston Township beings the process of creating a master plan for the park, what changes would you suggest?

If you were sitting at the drawing board and redesigning Memorial Park, where would you start?

Think of this as a community town hall where all ideas are on the table. For those of you who frequent the park, what improvements would you suggest? And for those that don't visit the park regularly, what prevents you from going there!

On Monday, the Livingston Council heard proposals from three consulting firms competing for the chance to redesign the park. All three — Arterial LLC, Maser Consulting and Hatch Mott MacDonald — insisted that the community's input  was necessary before any decisions were made.

But all three firms pointed out where they would being the redesign process. These included:

  • Redesigning and increasing the number of pathways
  • Making the park more accessible from different entrance points
  • Adding a butterfly garden
  • Creating a space for a summer farmers market
  • Adding signage to clearly identify where different elements of the park are located
  • More parking
  • Rebranding the park
So what do you think, Livingston? What changes do you want to see made to the park? Share your ideas in the comment section below.
