Founders Day, Board of Ed Meets, and It's Heart Month in Livingston

The Livingston Township Council will meet for its conference meeting on Monday, Feb. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Among the items on the attached agenda are an update on Founders Day and discussion of the New Jersey League of Municipalities. The meeting will be followed by the regularly scheduled meeting beginning at 8 p.m. An agenda for the regular meeting is also attached Both meetings take place at township hall, 357 S. Livingston Ave.

The Livingston Board of Education meets 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 4. The meeting will include a presentation of the district’s preliminary budget and proclamations to outstanding students. The meeting will be held at the Mount Pleasant Middle School. An agenda is attached.

Hear ye, hear ye. . .Celebrate Founders' Day.  Livingston received its original charter on Feb. 5, 1813. On Tuesday, Feb. 5, the town will celebrate at Livingston Town Hall at 7:30 p.m. The celebration will feature former New Jersey Gov. Thomas Kean. The original charger will be read by actor Ed Schiff. Special refreshments - including cookie recipes from the 1800s - will be served. The event will include descendants of Livingston's founding families and actors in costume.

School Safety: The Livingston Public Schools P/T Council and Township Safety Committee will meet 4-5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at Heritage Middle School. This will be an open forum. The public will be invited interested members of the community to attend.
