A man wanted in connection with a robbery in Point Pleasant Beach and a double murder in Seattle, initially identified by authorities as being homeless, may have friends or family in North Jersey, authorities said Monday.

Ali Muhammad Brown, 30, was said by authorities to have pointed a handgun at a 46-year-old Washington, D.C. man outside the Green Planet coffee shop on Arnold Avenue in Point Pleasant Beach on June 29 and demanded his money and car keys. The victim complied, but Brown ultimately ran off, police said.

He is wanted on the murder charges out of Seattle in connection with a June 1 shooting. Authorities there say Brown gunned down 27-year-old Ahmed Said and 23-year-old Dwone Anderson at 29th and King Street in Seattle, according to a feature posted last month by Seattle's Most Wanted.

According to a report from KIRO-TV, Brown was previously convicted of trying to molest his 6-year-old daughter.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office announced Monday Brown may have family or friends in the area.

Brown's bail on the Ocean County charges was set at $500,000 cash by Superior Court Judge Francis Hodgson, Point Pleasant Beach police said.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Brown is being asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor's Major Crimes, Homicide Task Force at 877-847-7432 or the United States Marshals Service at 1-877-Wanted2. All calls will be kept confidential.
