Livingston Teen Died of Multiple Gunshot Wounds, Autopsy Reveals

Investigation continues into the death of Brendan Tevlin, 19.

A Livingston teen killed outside a West Orange apartment early Thursday morning died of multiple gunshot wounds, an autopsy revealed.

Brendan Tevlin, 19, a 2013 Seton Hall Prep grad who was home for the summer after completing his first year at the University of Richmond, was killed in his SUV near the corner Northfield Avenue and Walker Road.

Investigators continued to canvass the area Friday morning, looking for evidence near where Tevlin's body was found outside the Ron Jolyn Apartments, according to The Star-Ledger.

Neighbors said they heard up to possibly six shots fired at about midnight Wednesday, according to the report.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has maintained their assertion that the incident was a targeted attack.

"This appears to be an isolated incident," Anthony Ambrose, chief of detectives for the prosecutor's office, told the Ledger. "It doesn’t appear to be random."
