Carjacking at Livingston Gas Station Under Investigation

A silver Mercedes was stolen from the Livingston Autobahn.

Police are investigating an alleged carjacking Friday morning at a Northfield Road gas station.

At around 8:10 a.m., a man in his 20s, wearing a wool mask, allegedly pushed his way past a female driver using the air pump at the Livingston Autobahn Shell station, entered the driver's seat and drove away in her 2009 silver Mercedes Sport Utility Vehicle, according to Detective Sgt. Anthony Dippold. The woman was not injured.

The masked man drove northbound down Livingston Avenue, followed by another car, which police believe was involved in the incident — a black Audi, later reported as stolen from the Newark Airport parking lot.
