Former Livingston Police Office Leo Craig Dies At 88

The following are recent Livingston obituaries.

  • Leo J. Craig, 88, of Little Egg Harbor. Craige was one of Livingston's most highly decorated police officers. He joined the police department on Aug. 1, 1956. In 1962, he was reassigned to the detective bureau. In 1984, he was promoted to detective sergeant. During his time on the force, Craig received 23 awards for valor and extraordinary performance, which included the apprehension of four armed bank robbers. He was instrumental in developing and implementing the Livingston Police Department's exercise program.
  • Rose M. Klemens, 94, Nov.  5. Born in Eynon, PA, Rose had lived in Livingston the past 51 years. She was a communicant of St. Philomena's Church and was a member of its Rosary Altar Society.
  • Geraldine V. Casey, 95, Nov. 5. After her children were in school, Gerry continued her education at Rutgers University, receiving her master's degree in clinical social work, and began working as a social worker at the former Rahway Hospital, where she retired in 1988 as director of patient management.
