The rest of the honorees include: Players—Mats Carseberg (WWP, Lawrenceville Prep), Bob Crothers (Morris Knolls), Dustin DePalma (CBA), Brandon Doria (Seton Hall), Stan Gutt (Bayonne), Chris Ohlweiler (Chatham Twp.), Michael Pendy (Delbarton), Chris Seebode (Seton Hall), Pat Sullivan (Seton Hall), and Pat Verney (Hudson Catholic); Coaches—Michael Reynolds (Madison, Toms River South, CBA), Bob Smith (Hudson Catholic, CBA, Pope John), and Bruce Shatel (Delbarton); Contributors to the Game—Rick Bliwise, Lou Lamoriello, Mike Morreale, and Ben Leuzzi; Official—Bill Sidun; and Team—Delbarton (2001-02).
Livingston resident, former player and member of the 1979-1980 team, Don Julich said he recalls the State Championship game well, in which teammate Joe Tracey scored the winning goal against Brick Township. According to Julich, the final win over Brick “was made sweeter because LHS had lost to them twice earlier that season.”
