Temple Emanu-El Of West Essex Collectes Dozens Of Turkeys During Annual Food Drive

The temple donated dozens of frozen turkeys to St. Philomena's Church in Livingston.

Temple Emanu-El of West Essex in Livingston is helping those in need this holiday season by providing them with a Thanksgiving dinner. 

The temple's social action Committee held its annual Thanksgiving Turkey Collection on this past weekend. The yearly event is designed to help families in need celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with a turkey dinner.

Temple members and the community brought frozen turkeys to the Livingston temple’s parking lot on Nov. 23-24. For two days, dozens of frozen turkeys were collected.

At the conclusion of the two-day event, the Temple Emanu-El volunteers brought the donated the food to St. Philomena’s Church in Livingston.  

The frozen turkeys were distributed to local families by the Community Hunger Outreach Ware House through the Livingston Clergy Association. This annual program has supplied hundreds of turkeys over the past few years to families in need.
