Biblical InconsistencyMore Torah Than We Asked For
Led by Julie Deluty, Doctoral Candidate in Biblical Studies, NYU
Mondays January 6, 13 and 27, 7:00 PM

God has several names, He gives the Ten Commandments at least twice, and His Torah includes two traditions about Moses and the rock and Deborah the prophetess. The Bible is filled with parallel yet divergent biblical traditions.  How can we Jews understand them, yet still regard the Bible as a holy work? Julie Deluty, will share her broad background in languages, ancient history, and archeology as we explore the earliest sources of our own story, seeking to understand both ancient history and ancient memory.
