Some potential
early signs & symptoms of auditory processing disorders may include difficulty
following verbal directions, distractibility, especially in noisy environments,
difficulty taking notes, following long conversations or poor organizational
skills. Other children may have difficulty in memorizing names and places,
repeating words or numbers in sequence or learning a foreign language just to
name a few.

Dr.
Goione-Merchant has a doctorate in Audiology and is certified to teach the
hearing impaired/deaf and also teacher of the handicapped.  She has been an assistant professor and
clinical preceptor in the Speech Pathology and Audiology Department at Montclair
State University since January 2011 and has been in private practice
