LIVINGSTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY

The Livingston Historical Society will present Mr. Harry Ettlinger, a surviving hero of the Allied Forces "Monuments, Fine Arts ans Archives" section known as the "Monuments Men".
Born in Germany, Ettlinger came to the US with his family in 1938. They settled in Newark, NJ where he attended East Side High School. At the age of 19, Harry was drafted  and joined the Army. His background as art historian and his knowledge of the German language made him the perfect candidate for the "Monuments Men" program.
In his personal recollection, Mr.Ettlinger will talk about the team's unprecedented and heroic work protecting and safeguarding civilization's most important artistic and cultural treasures.
After returning home to the US, Mr. Ettlinger became an industrial engineer. He just recently toured Europe promoting the "Monuments Men" movie in four different countries, as well as Washington DC. He now resides in Rockaway, NJ.
The public is invited to attend, free of charge
