Historical Force Home and Museum Tour
Built in 1745 by the Force Family, early settlers in Livingston, the original home consisted of one large room and a loft area. The house was expanded in the early 1800's. Today it is owned by the township and cared for by members of the Historical Society. It contains a fireplace in nearly every room and is furnished with period pieces such as grandfather's clocks, spinning wheels, handmade quilts, old cooking items, a Hancock bench and many other restored and repaired pieces. The museum room also features a display of elegant gowns dating back to the 1700's.The cabin to the rear of the property was moved from the Livingston Mall area in the early 1960's when the mall was built. We’ve removed the ability to reply as we work to make improvements.
