Ian Stern has been the Director of the Archeological Seminars Institute for 27 years and is the government certified archeologist at Tel Maresha. He has excavated at many sites in Israel and has extensive knowledge of ancient sources. Ian has taught and run the Ministry of Tourism's prestigious tour guide course, sharing his knowledge and experience with tourists and tour guides alike. He successfully makes biblical archeology relevant for his audiences oftentimes highlighting modern political issuesconnected to it. He completed his Doctorate in Archeology at Bar Ilan University. His BA in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies is from Brandeis University and his Masters in Jewish Education is from the Hebrew Union College.Ian made aliyah with his wife Heidi in 1978 from New Jersey and served as a combat medic in the Israel Defense Forces.
