TBA Sisterhood Kabbalat Shabbat Dinner & Symposium
During the fall and winter seasons, the Sisterhood of Temple B’nai Abraham sponsors several Kabbalat Shabbat Dinners with engaging speakers, which have included award-winning authors and key players from the arts, government, international affairs and education. The dinner and symposium are at 7:30 PM, following Kabbalat Shabbat series which start at 6:30 PM. Join your friends for a delicious dinner, a stimulating program and good conversation. All are invited to attend. The costs are: in advance: $20 per person, per event or $25 thereafter.
The next dinner and symposium will be held on Friday, March 1, with service at 6:30 PM, and dinner and speaker at 7:30 PM. The guest speaker will be Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin, NJ Director of the Anti-Defamation League (ADL). Rabbi Salkin’s topic will be “The Z Word: Why does Zionism drive the world crazy?" Zionism and Israel are hot button topics – in the media, politics and university campuses. What are the boundaries of criticizing Israel? When does (legitimate) criticism of Israel’s policies become anti-Semitism? Join Jeffrey Salkin, ADL director, for a crucial conversation for living in today’s world.
