Classic Movie Series at Livingston Library: From Here to Eternity

The Classic Movie Series features some favorite actors and actresses born in 1913 - Centenarians for the Town's Bicentennial.

Starring Burt Lancaster, born November 2, 1913. Also starring Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr, Donna Reed, and Frank Sinatra.

The movie was nominated for 13 Academy Awards in 1954. It won 8: Frank Sinatra – Supporting Actor, Donna Reed Supporting Actress, Best Picture, Director Cinematography, Sound, Film Editing and screenplay. Lancaster, Clift and Kerr were all nominated, but didn’t win. A bit of movie trivia: The MPAA banned photos of the famous Burt Lancaster-Deborah Kerr passionate kiss on the beach for being too erotic. Many prints had shortened versions of the scene because projectionists would cut out frames to keep as souvenirs.

The program is sponsored by the Livingston Library Endowment Fund. It's free and all are invited.
