Carlos D. Luria, retired CIA Executive Officer to speak at Livingston Public Library

Carlos D. Luria was the CIA Executive Officer of the component that had primary responsibility for the ARGO case. His lecture will focus on the background and factors that led the White House to approve this operation's "bizarre approach".
Mr. Luria was recruited by the CIA as it geared up to meet the Soviet threat. His work spanned most of the Cold War and earned him the Career Intelligence Medal. In his book, "Skating on the Edge", he includes some of his case histories.
The program is sponsored by The Friends of the Library Literary Liaisons Series and is free. No reservations are required.
The Library will be showing the film ARGO on Monday July15 @ 7:00pm and on Friday July 19 @ 1:30pm.
