Black Friday Book Sale

Friends of the Library Announces “Black Friday” Book Sale

Black Friday isn’t just for retailers any more. On Friday November 29 - the day after Thanksgiving - Friends of the Livingston Library (FOTLL) will have its own “Black Friday Sale.” Adult hard cover and soft cover fiction books - romance, mystery/thriller, science fiction, and general fiction - will be on a one day sale at $0.25 each. In addition, the sale will offer a selection of dime books.

The one-day sale will run on the “honor system” where patrons select their books and pay at the cash box. FOTLL volunteers will be at the site periodically to check on the status of the inventory, replenishing sale inventory as necessary.

Other items at the Ongoing Sale are at their everyday low prices:
  • $1.00 for hard cover adult non-fiction, $.50 for soft cover adult non-fiction
  • $.50 for Children’s hard cover books, and $.25 for Children’s soft cover books
  • DVDs for $2.00 and $.25 for other non-print media
  • Coffee Table books for $3.00
The books sold by FOTLL come primarily through donations.  Donations of gently used books (no textbooks or encyclopedias please), board games, electronic games, puzzles, audio books on CD, CDs, and DVDs can be deposited at the Friends Desk in the Library lobby anytime the Library is open. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. The money FOTLL raises through the book sales are donated to the Livingston Library to support programming and supplement book acquisitions.
