Author Terry Golway at Livingston Library: 50th Anniversary of the JFK Assassination

Livingston Public Library marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy with a lecture by Prof. Terry Golway, author of several books on Kennedy.    John F. Kennedy was elected America’s 35th president in November 1960, serving from 1961 until his assassination in 1963. After Lincoln, John F. Kennedy is generally acknowledged as our most eloquent president, and, even after his tragic assassination, remains one of the most celebrated leaders of all time.   Golway will examine the Kennedy Administration, addressing both political and family affairs to provide a picture of the “Camelot” years.

Prof. Terry Golway is a historian, author, and a journalist, having served as a columnist and editorial board member for The New York Times. He is director of the John Kean Center for American History at Kean University. A former member of the New York Times Editorial Board, and former City Editor of the New York Observer, Golway has authored several history books, including Let Every Nation Know, an academic study of John F. Kennedy’s speeches and JFK: Day by Day: A Chronicle of the 1,036 Days of John F. Kennedy's Presidency.  Golway has appeared in documentaries on PBS and the History Channel among others.

This program is free and open to all and is funded by the Friends of the Livingston Public Library.
