Livingston Native Pens Deal with Washington Capitals

24-year-old David Kolomatis signed a one-year contract with Caps on Friday.

The NHL's Washington Capitals added a 24-year-old Livingston native to its roster this month. 

David Kolomatis signed a one-year contact with the Capitals on July 5, according to the team's website. The right-shooting, 5-foot 11-inch defensemen was originally drafted 126th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft by the Los Angeles Kings.

Kolomatis spent four seasons with the Los Angles Kings' AHL affiliate the Manchester Monarchs before leaving for Washington, D.C. The Livingston native played 280 games for the Monarchs where he accrued 116 points and 132 penalty minutes. 

The Washington Capitals could not be reached for comment.
